MCL presents #4 on February 29, 2024 at the URBAN NATION Museum

On February 29, our format "MCL presents..." will take place for the fourth time at the URBAN NATION Museum. It's about political graffiti and art's potential impact in an increasingly politically divided society.

The Martha Cooper Library, our library specializing in graffiti, street art, and urban art, organizes a bi-annual roundtable discussion on current issues in street art and introduces new publications. This time we present the volume "Focus: Political Graffiti" from the Guernica Society's "Art and Politics" Yearbook series.

In their essays, drawn from a variety of disciplines, the authors demonstrate an appreciation of the cultural phenomenon of graffiti as a tool of political agency, which is often overlooked in academia, while offering insight into their current research. In doing so, in keeping with the theme of the 8th Fresh A.I.R. Annual "LINGUISTIC XPEDITION," there is a strong presence of linguistic contributions.

More information will be available in a timely manner on OUR WEBSITE and via social media channels.
