Marta was diagnosed with uterine sarcoma. Uterine sarcoma refers to different rare cancers that occur in the muscle or connective tissue of the uterus. Around the same time, accidentally, a friend of mine gifted me a vintage gynecological textbook, full of diapositives, scientific illustrations and diagrams. Marta loves coloring mandalas, so we made some new coloring sheets. We turned to drawing and coloring as a method of coping. By recreating the shapes our body makes, through a collective coloring exercise, we are shifting our attention outside of our own bellies. A set of drawings were also sent to our friends for coloring. The drawings were appropriated from ‘Explorations Gynecologiques’, by J. Botella Lluisa, Madrid/Paris, 1973.
